Welcome from Neil
I’ve spent over 20 years working with young people in education, in roles ranging from Head of Sport and Head of Year to senior leadership in special needs schools. During that time, I’ve been lucky enough to see so many young people grow in confidence, find their strengths, and move forward into education and adult life with a real sense of direction.
I’ve also seen how difficult certain stages can be — especially the move from primary to secondary school, or when a young person begins to disengage from education altogether. Whether it’s anxiety, low confidence, or simply feeling that school isn’t the right fit, it can be a really challenging time for both the young person and their family.
Sport 2 Aspire was created to offer a safe, supportive space where young people can reconnect with learning in a way that works for them. We use sport as a way in — helping to build trust, confidence, and a sense of belonging, especially for those who may not be engaging in a traditional classroom setting.
We know that real progress happens when everyone is working together, so we place a big focus on building strong relationships with parents, carers, and support networks. You’re a key part of the journey.
For many of the young people we support, mainstream school can feel overwhelming or out of reach at times. Through sport, we help them re-engage, rebuild confidence, and start to believe in themselves again.
