WHAT WE DO
At Sport 2 Aspire, we use sport as a way to reconnect young people with learning, build confidence, and create positive pathways forward.
We work with young people who may be struggling in education — whether that’s due to anxiety, low confidence, behaviour, or simply feeling disengaged from school. Through a combination of sport, mentoring, and structured support, we help them re-engage, rebuild routine, and develop the skills they need for their next steps.
Why Sport?
Sport is often the starting point for young people who don’t engage in a traditional classroom.
It removes pressure, creates a level playing field, and gives young people a chance to experience success again — sometimes for the first time in a long time.
Through sport, young people can:
Build trust with adults in a natural, relaxed environment
Develop confidence through small, achievable wins
Learn how to manage emotions like frustration and anxiety
Improve focus, routine, and motivation
Experience teamwork, structure, and positive relationships
Sport is not the end goal — it’s the tool we use to unlock potential and reintroduce learning in a way that feels safe and achievable.
How We Support Young People
Our programmes are built around four key areas:
Engagement – helping young people feel comfortable, motivated, and ready to take part
Education – developing key life skills and supporting learning in a practical way
Mentoring – building trusted relationships and positive role models
Health & Fitness – improving physical wellbeing, confidence, and lifestyle habits
Everything we do is underpinned by core values that young people can understand and apply in everyday life:
Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, and Sportsmanship.
Our Approach
Every young person is different, so our provision is flexible and tailored to individual needs.
We offer:
Small group sessions and 1:1 mentoring
A safe, structured, and supportive environment
Consistent routines and clear expectations
Positive role modelling from experienced staff
Programmes delivered at our base at Trojans Sports Club or within school settings
We work closely with schools, local authorities, and families to ensure each placement is meaningful and supports long-term progress.
Our approach is built around strong relationships, using principles from the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy). This helps young people feel safe, understood, and supported — which is key to helping them re-engage.
Outcomes
Our aim is to help young people move forward — whether that means returning to school, accessing further education, or building a new pathway that works for them.
Young people who attend Sport 2 Aspire often:
Re-engage with learning
Improve attendance and routine
Develop a more positive attitude towards education
Gain confidence to take their next steps
Most importantly, they begin to believe in themselves again.
Mental Health & Wellbeing
We understand that mental health plays a huge role in a young person’s ability to learn and engage.
That’s why we focus on creating a calm, supportive environment where young people feel safe and valued.
Our staff prioritise building trusted relationships so every young person knows they have someone in their corner. We support them to:
Manage anxiety and emotions
Express themselves in a healthy way
Build confidence through small, achievable successes
Our Vision
We believe every young person has potential — sometimes they just need the right environment to unlock it.
Our aim is to provide a nurturing, inclusive, and individualised service where young people can:
Discover their strengths
Build confidence
Develop life skills
Re-engage with education, training, or employment
Through sport, support, and strong relationships, we help young people move forward with confidence and purpose.
